What is a Legal Document Assistant (LDA)?

A legal document assistant is a professional who is legally authorized to prepare legal documents at a client’s direction. Paralegals and LDAs undergo the same training and education. The only difference is who they serve! While paralegals work for law firms serving attorneys, LDAs work independently and serve public clients directly. LDAs are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice, but they are registered and bonded through the local county.
